605 Kiwanis

MISSION

Kiwanis helps kids around the world. Local clubs look out for our communities and the international organization takes on large-scale challenges, such as fighting disease and poverty.

VALUES

We are passionate about making a difference. Helping kids grow and succeed is at the heart of everything we do. But how we do it is just as important. We believe our neighborhoods and our world are best served when people of all ages and different backgrounds work together to share their time and talents.

Club Meets Every 2nd Thursdays Each Month at Mr. Rosewood Family Restaurant.

American Cancer Society

For more than 10 decades, the American Cancer Society has been dedicated to pursuing better outcomes for every cancer, every life. Today, more people are surviving cancer than ever before, but there is still work to be done. Join us, support us, and help us end cancer as we know it, for everyone. By funding and conducting research, we have helped create a world where breast cancer is detected earlier, where fewer people smoke, and where more people survive cancer. We’ve helped increase federal funding for cancer research to $6.9 billion. With your help, we can go even further

Bernabe Community Center

Founded in 2003 and still active in the community today!

Our story is about city residents taking ownership of their neighborhood and how that decision changed and continues to change their community.  Piece by piece, dream by dream, hope by hope, everyday people – from elementary kids to senior citizens – are improving their attitude and opportunities in business, home, and school environments.  How do you change a community from the inside out?  Any positive change starts first and foremost with each person consciously owning their decisions in the past and for the future.  Maturity comes from taking up the mantle to be proactive improving your position in life through education, better communication with associates, and in holding a positive attitude.  The results are astounding.  Choosing to not be cynical or to blame oneself or others generates hope, and hope creates people who are resilient, determined, and creative in finding solutions to problems.

Goodwill SOLAC

Goodwill, Serving the People of Southern Los Angeles County (SOLAC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that transforms donated goods into job training, education and placement services for individuals with barriers to employment. Goodwill SOLAC serves 22 cities and communities throughout Southern Los Angeles County.

Our skills training, education, job preparation and placement programs build lives, families and communities—one job at a time. Placing individuals in productive and competitive employment fills them with the value, joy and dignity of a paycheck. We believe putting people to work not only benefits the individual, but also the community’s economic vitality through taxes, spending power, real estate values, quality of life, and relief from social services and welfare systems.
